Home of Iron Liz and Internet Hype Machine Productions
Hang in there, Liz! You're strong and smart, and you're going to make a go of whatever you want, it'll just take a little time. You're not letting anyone down, just do what you need to do to support yourself and we look forward to whatever you put out, whenever you can (Don't worry--we all have to do the 'crappy' jobs at some point =P)
I also suffer from depression at times. I know how much it affects you & those around you. Wishing you luck in difficult times.
Your actual life is more important than putting videos on the internet. Take care of yourself first and foremost. You're not letting anyone down just because you have your priorities in order, and if anyone says otherwise, they're just douchebags.*hugs*
Liz, I understand how life can come up from behind and kick you in the face. Though we love the card games, board games, and RPG corners, we would rather you be happy than for us to see tons of content if you're miserable.Be well Liz.Brian~
Grats on the new job.
I get your situation: the depression, the family stuff, working a job that is the polar opposite from what you love. If you don't get the reviews out as fast, you shouldn't worry; life has to come first. You've had the courage and skill to do what many of your viewers would like to do whlie gathering a fan base and the respect of your peers. For a blogger site that's been up for approx. 2 years, that's very a impressive feat. So if you have to deal with reality for a while, I hope you come through unscathed and ready to roll a d20 some time soon. Take care.
I have serious issues with depression, though mine tends to be more seasonal - January and February are always emotionally brutal times for me. I will not be so arrogant as to offer advice. I will simply say I hope you pull through this. I also enjoy your pen and paper RPG reviews more than the CCG reviews.
Depression is a cruel mistress; I know her well. I think that having a schedule for things and sticking with it should actually help battle the problem - But only if it's something you enjoy. Creative expression just for the sake of others? Can't be good if you ask me. Do what you want to do. That's who really matters in this. As far jobs go: I never really understood what is supposed to be wrong with all the normal, works-with-hands jobs. It's a huge part of what makes the world work. Whether it's advanced room service (Wait, that sounds dirty..) or behind-the-scenes production work doesn't really make a difference in that regard. Personally, I would be glad if I could have a job like that.Whatever you do and feel like sharing, I'm looking forward to your posts, whenever and however they may come.
Just when is this 2nd Edition game going on?
I wish you good will in your endeavours. Times are tough, But some how We manage and I'm dead certain you will to.
Is it the job you were hoping for at the University?
I'm sorry you're feeling down, hun...I swear, at times I think depression is my number 1 fan! Just remember that things WILL get better. And you have not let anyone down, my dear. You are only human and you need to take care of your sweet self! You have my support no matter what! Be well, and stay strong, girly girl! *massive-cyber-hug-of-doom*
Step one: take care of yourself. You have to eat, you have to do the rest of your stuff. And if your job gives you time to daydream about fun things, that's even better. It's not like the internet's going anywhere anyway.I'd love to see you talk about how you plan your reviews, though...
Hang in there Liz remember its bad to force you’re self for making movies and burn out completely. If its hard than take a break keep that spark of passion that you have and let it blast when the time will come.
We all have been there at one time or another, I also work a very not glamorous job, and get depressed. Real Life is more important, rest yourself up. Besides if your not at your best it would show in any videos you do anyways. Taking a break and relaxing is perfectly acceptable.
Liz, you're not letting anyone down or stuff. Do what makes you happy, go at your own pace, what you do for a hobby is your(!) hobby, we fans are happy when you give us new stuff, but you don't have to meet expectations, ok, maybe your own, but that has nothing to do with us.I wish you all the best to cope with your depression, and i wish you all the best with your future plans. We do love you, as an internet celebrity, as a reviewer, as someone who shares their oppinion on things we like (card games, RPGs, and even other stuff!), we would miss for sure you if you would stop doing what you do. We are grateful for every "bit" you share with us, no matter how small you think it is, we love it, because you're honest and open and many wonderful things more that make the video reviews and vlogs so enjoyable. Thanks for all of that, Liz. Take care, CtH
Hope you're doing okay, Liz. Been there, and I hope you take the time you need to take care of yourself. Best wishes and I know you can do it. :)
Dear Iron Liz, Don't be brittle; be malleable! Be flexible! Don't rust! Take some supplements! Avoid Warhammer 3rd Ed! Avoid Star Wars Revised Edition! Stay gold! Actually, one reason I like this site is because it's not overdone like many others. In other words, don't stress the content on this place. I like it the way it is! Real. Singed, BC
Liz, I like most all of the people that comment here wish you well, and ... well, we're behind you. I guess that's about what it comes down to.
I don't comment on things often Liz, and I'm sorry - more often then not someone else has already said what I would say, in a far better manor. However at times like these everyone out here in cyberspace should at least let you know we're here for you. Sure its the least we can do - but you can make a cake with enough least>_< okay that was horrible. and the whole comment is coming out cheesy, but Liz we love you- content or not. on a human level you've touched lives all over the world. I lug furniture around in Southern Ontario :) so glamorous doesn't fit my life right now either. its the good with the bad in this old life.. take heart knowing that for us -all of us- that you're one of our goods. Jon.
I kinds know how you feel Liz. I'm working a job where I'm not really happy but it's the "best" thing I have for making a living. Just hang in there and stay strong.

Don't worry Liz, we're here because we love you as well as your work. If we have to wait for content to make sure that you are doing what you need and want ... well, we learn to be patient :) Also, I really appreciate the rough schedule that you gave us - any reviews at all are welcome, but it's nice to know about how often we can expect new content :)Also, I wanted to add myself to the list of people who like your RPG reviews even more than your Card Games (which are also fun) ^_^Basically, be good to yourself. We'll still be here when you're ready *internet hugs*-Jem
